Offline Payment Processing Options

In addition to the online payment processing options set up with your website, you can provide your customers with Offline Payment Options, including orders/payments by mail, email, telephone, or fax. Offline payment options do not work like online payment options and are NOT tracked within the shopping cart. Orders through offline payment methods will be submitted directly to you. You will then have to track and process the orders manually yourself, as order information will not be stored on your website. Also, these orders will not be reflected in the inventory management on your website.

NOTE: You will still need a merchant account and a method of processing credit cards manually should you choose to accept them. You will also still need to choose another online processing method, such as manual credit card processing.

IMPORTANT: Online payment options offer greater security to your customers than offline options. Your customers may be hesitant to provide credit card information, etc. through offline payment methods.

 

To Set Up Offline Payment Options

1. Click the 'Edit Store' tab.
2. Click 'Payment Processing' on the left.
3. Enter your payment restrictions.

5. Fill out the boxes provided beneath 'Offline Payments'. If you choose to accept checks or money orders, fill out the box provided with the name and address you would like the check/money order made out to.

The result of using these boxes is that during the checkout process, the options show at the top of the payment page. Below is an example of where the options appear.

6. Lastly, click on the 'Save' button at the bottom to save your changes.
