Discount CodesDiscount codes are entered by the customer during the checkout process and can be created for either one-time or multiple uses. Discounts can be either a percentage or dollar amount. When you’ve created a discount code, the customer will see a place within the shopping cart to enter the code. Overview
One-Use vs. Multiple-Use Discount CodesA one-use discount code is available for one use only, one time, by one person. Once this code is used by anyone, it is no longer valid. A multiple-use coupon code is valid until you delete it within your system.
Creating a Discount Code
NOTE: For dollar amount discounts, the promotion code is a maximum dollar amount deduction. This means if the discount is for $50 but the order total is $30, the customer pays nothing. The remaining $20 cannot be used later using the same promotion code. If it is a multiple-use dollar discount code, the customer would get up to a maximum $50 discount each time they do an order for as long as the promotion is on.
Canceling a Discount CodeTo disable a code, click the red 'X' to the right of the code in the 'Active Coupons' list. The code will be moved to the 'Expired and Disabled Coupons' list. If you want to delete it permanently, click the red 'X' beside it in that table. |
